Description

The SCHMETZ Hemstitch Sewing Machine Needle is a specialty needle designed to create decorative openwork, hemstitch, and heirloom-style effects on fabric. Its distinctive wide blade features lateral wings that push the fabric fibres apart rather than cutting through them, creating small openings that form a decorative pattern as you sew.

It uses the 130/705 H Wing needle system and is designed for standard household sewing machines. The needle is particularly suitable for light to medium-weight, loosely woven fabrics such as cotton and linen. For best results, use fine or lightweight decorative threads and consider using a stabilizer to help keep the fabric flat and reduce puckering.
